Junior Marine Technician

Over a short period of training and familiarization, under the direction of the Senior Technical Manager, you will rapidly undertake tasks associated with:




  • Testing, adjusting, and troubleshooting components, PCBs, sub-assemblies, and antennas


  • Load, update, and modify software


  • Make intelligent use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately achieve assignments


  • Carry out equipment repairs and installations as directed


  • Document all Services rendered and Materials expended


  • Use communication and leadership skills to build rapport with clients


    Types of equipment serviced:


  • Marine GDMSS radio system

  • Voyage Data Recorder (VDR)

  • Gyrocompass overhaul

  • Autopilot system

  • VSAT ship terminal

  • ECDIS system

  • Radar System

  • Speed log equipment

  • Echosounder equipment

  • Transmitting Magnetic Compass system (TMC)







  • A degree or diploma in radio telecommunications or an Associate's Degree or equivalent education

        Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application


  • Excellent computer skills with advanced knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word; Autocad and layout software, is an asset


  • Strong communication skills, written and oral

  • Experience in shipbuilding or cooperation with shipyards preferred

  • Time management skills essential to meeting deadlines and availability to work overtime as required

  • Be physically fit. Work environment often involves carrying 20 – 40 lbs, climbing ladders and masts, and exposure to weather
