Western Canada Marine Response Corporation (WCMRC) is a Transport Canada certified Response Organization, whose mandate is to ensure there is a state of preparedness in place and to mitigate the impact when a marine oil spill occurs. This includes the protection of wildlife, economic and environmental sensitivities, and the safety of both the responders and the public.
WCMRC is currently undergoing organizational growth and as a result, we are recruiting for a Full Time Manager, Human Resources to join our HR team, located at our corporate office in Burnaby, B.C. This position will be particularly appealing to an individual who is seeking the opportunity to develop and deliver progressive HR programs and initiatives in a dynamic, growing organization.
Reporting to the General Manager, this position will play an active part in leading and managing a broad range of HR programming to drive the overall culture and capabilities of the organization and the performance, satisfaction, and engagement of the workforce. Every day will be different, as you move between managing payroll and benefits, researching, recommending and implementing new initiatives, leading various committees, assisting with recruitment of new personnel, and coaching managers and employees in the interpretation and operationalization of policies and procedures.
To be successful in this role you will bring eight to ten years of progressive HR generalist experience, including experience overseeing/running payroll. CPHR/CPM designations would be an asset. Previous experience working with Avanti Payroll and HRIS software would be beneficial. You will need to be a collaborative, professional team player, able to coordinate and interact with multiple people and projects, and skilled at managing changing and shifting priorities. A solid work ethic, combined with the desire to make work fun, is a must have.
