Western Canada Marine Response Corporation (WCMRC) is a Transport Canada certified Response Organization, whose mandate is to ensure there is a state of preparedness in place and to mitigate the impact when an oil spill occurs. This includes the protection of wildlife, economic and environmental sensitivities, and the safety of both the responders and the public.
WCMRC is recruiting for a Full Time Training Coordinator to join our team, located at our office in Nanaimo, B.C.
The Training Coordinator will be responsible for internal personnel and external contractors, including all pre and post session logistics, communications with learners, course evaluation, and information management. The role will assist in the development of professional development materials, including training manuals, PowerPoint presentations, lesson plans and evaluation tools. This position will also prepare and distribute all training and development materials and any other related documentation according to schedule. In addition, administer assessment tools to evaluate training effectiveness and report on training outcomes. The position will also coordinate with the Manager, Training and Development on stakeholder engagement, focus groups, and client outreach in the development of new initiatives.
To be successful in this role you will have completed a post-secondary degree or diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience with a minimum of three years of previous experience in the training and development field. Business travel will be required. You will be a collaborative team player with strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, and be able to deal with all levels of employees and management in a manner that elicits cooperation and support. In addition, excellent problem solving and analytical skills, are a must have.
